The 810-812 Cord is a consensus for anyones list of the most beautiful production cars of all time! This groundbreaking design set the world on fire when it was introduced at the 1935 NY Auto Salon. People actually stood on top of other cars to get a glimpse of the Cord, which was akin to a spaceship having landed in the middle of the show floor. Sales requests were overwhelming for the relatively small Auburn Auto company and the cars were rushed to production. These cars are arguably the fastest and most drivable PreWar car there is. The Westchester Sedan with its fastback rear end is arguably the most attractive Sedan and th most desirable. Cords handle and ride like no other Pre War car. They look like no other PreWar car. After production ended the body dies were sold to the Graham Company and Graham produced the Hollywood using the Westchester body with very little modification. The Hupmobile Skylark was also produced for a very few years using these same bodies.

This over the top Award Winning Hot Rod started life as a Graham Sedan, but was largely a tub when acquired by our client, a well known Collector. The decision was made to build a Street Rod given the condition of the car, and no expense was spared in building what is arguably the most interesting modified Cord derivative we have ever seen. Everything is metal, the hood, the fully skirted fenders- everything. Fitted to the custom front subframe is NASCAR type Front End with Randy Sweet Rack& Pinion Power Steering, and Power Disc Brakes. A sophisicated Hydraulic system operates the tilt front Hood, which covers a Chevy 350 Crate Motor. In the rear we have a Jaguar Independant Suspension with inboard Disc brakes. Creature comforts include Mercedez Lumbar 6 way power seats, A/C, Cruise Control, Tilt & Telescopic Steering Wheel, Lighted Mirrors, Dual Glove Boxes, DAK Dash, Power Windows, Power Door Locks with Remote, 6 Disc CD-AM/FM stereo with power antenna. Contributors to this project were Larry Nicklin, Dan Wathen, and Ken Dunshire.

The car is quite a nice driver and handles like a sports car. After over 30,000 miles and trips across the continent to numerous car shows with Awards just about everywhere, including a prestigious Wally Award at the US Nationals in Indianapolis, The car was rebuilt and restored last year with a new 350 crate motor installed, new paint and new interior. This Amazing creation is ready for the Show circuit once again, and will provide years of driving enjoyment as well.

Both Tony Stewart and George Barris were so impressed with the car that they signed it!
