The late 40's early 50' s Chevy Pick Up is an increasingly popular Truck to Hot Rod. The Classsic lines of the truck and its wood bed are just a few of the reasons, but also, it fits pretty well onto more modern truck chassis, has plenty of room for a beefer drivetrain, and to be honest- is no fun at all to drive in stock form. This is the prime example of a vehicle that is much better as a hot rod than as a stock vehicle.
This very nice example was built in late '05 and has covered just over 2300 miles since. It features a '78 Nova Front Clip and Rear Differential with 308 positrack, a '78 Corvette L82 V8 with 350 HP, Custom Headers and Aluminized Flowmaster Dual Exhaust, and a 350 Turbo Hydramatic. Painted by Baugh Automotive in Topeka, KS in a very nice Camel Biege/Chocolate Brown Combination, the truck features a nice wood bed and complimentary Storage Box. Of course an all new Wiring Harness was installed along with new Classic Gauges, and a nice AM/FM Cassette Stereo. A period looking Manual Shifter and the side exiting exhaust really pull the build together nicely.
The Truck runs without fault, as well as any new vehicle would run.
