1955 Packard Caribbean This 1955 Packard Caribbean Convertible that has been completely rebuilt and overall is a number two car. Engine, Electrical & Fuel The engine has been totally rebuilt including rings, pins, bushings, valves & guides, pistons and gaskets. The car has a new timing belt. The car also has a new generator, starter, both 4 barrel carbs (and it has the original ‘batwing’ air cleaner), water pump and fuel pump. Brakes The brake system has been completely gone through and redone. All wheel cylinders, master cylinder and power brake unit have been rebuilt. The brake shoes on all four wheels are new. Suspension The Torsion bar bushings were replaced where needed. Car also has new front & rear shocks, king pins & bushings. Other The previous owner also replaced all the rubber gaskets around the windows, trunk and doors. He had a new convertible top installed in 2002 and a new speedometer cable. Features The car also has the rare option of wire wheels; even the spare is a wire wheel! The seats, windows, brakes, steering, top and both antennas are all power! And they all work. All gauges work. 352 cu. in. Packard V-8: 275 HP and 355 ft-lbs torque Packard Twin-Ultramatic automatic transmission PS, PW, P. Antennas (one on each ‘fin’), PB, P. Top ‘Hits’ or cons The only things that are in need of attention are the radio and there are a couple of spots that need a minor touch up on the paint. Could use new set of wide wall tires. As the appraiser pointed out, the gas tank looks like its never been pulled and this may be the source of my fuel problems. I'll know later this week.
