The Lehman Peterson Limosine is a very rare model made famous by use as Presidential Limosines by the Kennedy and Nixon Administrations. These were available only by special order, at a substantial cost above what a normal Continental would run. Along with the Mercedes Benz 600 these were used by heads of state, captains of industry, and other wealthy clients who would have had Chaufeurs, which had of course virtually disappearred by this time.
This car was built for J. Ribakoff of Palm Beach, FL, who was the President of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, an interesting comment on society in South Florida during the 60's, to say the least., One of just 56 built in 1968, it is one of only 11 known to exist today.
Options when new included TV antenna, Special Headrests, 2 extra assistant door straps, and a 2" increase in headroom (the raised roof option). The original Lincoln and L-P build sheets are with the car.
Purchased by the seller in 2008, substantial restoration work has been since undertaken, a detailed binder of receipts for all work is included. Among the work performed: New Leather interior, Updated rear electromics including new Flatsreeen DVD player and stereo with inverter, rebuilt front end including bushings and springs, Rebuilt forward A/C and new rear A/C unit, Rebuilt front brakes and all new wheels and tires, new vinyl top with repairs to opera window, both clocks converted to quartz movement, new dual battery system with isolator, New Edelbrock Performer Carburator and Pertronix Ignition, substantial rewiring and paint work, New stainless exhaust, new motor and tranny mounts, new belts and hoses, new window and divider switches and motors, new 220 amp alternator and much more. It comes with a custom car cover.
