1994 Chevrolet Corvette 6 Spd Black/Red Excellent Running and Driving Condition
The Chevrolet Corvette (C4) is the fourth generation of the Corvette sports car, produced by Chevrolet from 1983 until 1996. The convertible returned, as did higher performance engines, exemplified by the 375 hp LT5 found in the ZR-1. In early March 1990, the ZR-1 would set a new record for the highest 24 hour-5,000 mile land-speed by going over a speed of 175 mph. With a completely new chassis, modern sleeker styling, and other improvements to the model, prices rose and sales declined. For the first time really the Corvette was on par with the best sports cars in the world.
In 1990, the 1991 ZR-1 and 1991 base model received updates to bodywork, interior, and wheels. The rear convex fascia and square taillights that set the 1990 ZR-1 apart from the base model found their way to all 1991 models, making the high-priced ZR-1 less distinguishable; however the ZR-1's center high mount stop lamp remained above the rear window while those on base Corvettes were integrated into the rear fascia. The LT-1 V8 was introduced in 1993 giving the Base model 300 HP, not that far below the ZR-1, which partially led to the demise of the ZR-1 in 1995. The last C4 was produced on June 20, 1996.
This exceptional example was purchased by the Seller- a respected local collector 6 years ago. The car had resided with the original owner until 2 years prior. Finished in a stunning Black over Red color scheme with Black Metallic Grand Sport Stripes and ZR1esque Chrome Wheels this car is a show stopper! The over the top Stereo was added under previous ownership as was a straight out exhaust. Since acquiring the car the Seller has replaced the often troublesome Headlight gears, the Opti Spark ignition, and added Mufflers to the Exhaust System. A new Battery was just installed. Everything works in this car and it has no oil leaks and uses no oil. Included are the Stock Wheels and Owners Manual, and all service records during his ownership.
Always garaged and treated with the respect it deserves, this is by far one of the nicest C4's we have encountered.
These cars are finally getting their due in the collector car marketplace and are rapidly rising in value. Buy the best one you can find- I think you will be hard pressed to find a better one in this spec and condition.
