1937 Packard Super 8 Formal Sedan Exceptional Preservation x Loren Tryon

This exceptional example has a known history from new and an interesting back story. Purchased new by a wealthy Lumber heiress in San Francisco, she then married a Russian Prince who had fled to the States during the Bolshevik Revolution. The marriage did not last but she maintained the Royal connection and had his Royal Crest emblazoned on the passenger doors. She kept the car the rest of her life often seen arriving in style at important social events in the Bay Area. She willed the car to her Chauffeur, who passed shortly after her, and the car was purchased by Loren Tryon-cofounder of the Pebble Beach Concours in 1958. Mr. Tryon had the car repainted in its original color shortly thereafter, and enjoyed the car for many years. Subsequent owners include Chris Bock as well as several other important collectors. The car had a new top installed and major engine work performed in 1998.

The car still presents very well, runs and drives without fault, and will be a welcome participant at any major Concours and the many other exclusive events for which it is eligible. The '37 Packard is an excellent touring car due to its more modern independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes, while still maintaining the classic lines of the pinnacle designs of the legendary Packards that preceded it.
